Ingredients

  • 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the butter and both sugars until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Mix until combined.
  5. Gradually blend in the flour mixture, then fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool on the pan for 5 minutes.

Grammy's Tips

⭐ Don't overbake — pull them out when the edges are golden but the center still looks soft. They firm up as they cool.

⭐ Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for thicker, chewier cookies.

⭐ Use real butter — no substitutes if you want Grammy's results!
