About The Great Cookie Contest

A storybook & interactive family experience โ€” made with love, flour, and a little friendly competition.

Where it all started

The Great Cookie Contest started as a simple idea: what if a picture book could also be an experience? Not just something kids read, but something families actually do together โ€” gathering around the kitchen, rolling out dough, and judging each other's cookies with dramatic flair.

What came out of that idea is a story about siblings, friendly rivalry, and the secret ingredient that makes every cookie better. Paired with printable scorecards, recipe cards, and judge aprons, it's a full family event in a book.

The author

Jonny Estro

Jonny Estro is a dad, storyteller, and enthusiastic (if occasionally biased) cookie judge. He wrote The Great Cookie Contest after hosting one too many cookie competitions at his kitchen table and realizing there had to be a better way to settle the debate.

He lives with his family somewhere that smells like brown butter and vanilla extract. This is his first picture book.
