TEST - Grammy's Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies
The cookies that started it all. Grammy's secret? Extra vanilla and a sprinkle of love. She's been making these since Dad was Enzo's age.
These are the winning cookies from The Great Cookie Contest — Grammy's legendary recipe that Enzo and Elli had to judge. Now you can make them at home!
Ingredients
- 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and both sugars until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Mix until combined.
-
Gradually blend in the flour mixture, then fold in the chocolate chips.
-
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool on the pan for 5 minutes.
Grammy's Tips
⭐ Don't overbake — pull them out when the edges are golden but the center still looks soft. They firm up as they cool.
⭐ Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for thicker, chewier cookies.
⭐ Use real butter — no substitutes if you want Grammy's results!
